外展計劃 Outreach Programme

簡介

The China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee is committed to providing training in emerging and developing Para sports to our target groups. Our outreach programme is designed to be delivered in partnership with both single-sport and multi-sport organisations. The services are open to people with disabilities and stakeholders with special needs, without limitation to any specific group.

We aims to connect coaches with sports institutions to promote emerging sports specifically designed for persons with disabilities. This enables participants to experience and develop a habit of regular physical activity. In the long run, this may contribute to alleviating healthcare expenditure for the HKSAR Government. Through this outreach programme, we also actively engage different community segments, including special schools and day activity centres, to reach persons with various types of disabilities.

We are dedicated to working collaboratively with various organisations and special schools. Through this initiative, we seek to identify potential athletes within the community and encourage them to participate in structured, long-term Para sports training, ultimately leading them towards elite athlete development.

Outreach Programme – Tenpin Bowling for Persons with Physical and Visual Impairments

In partnership with the Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress, the Committee delivered a community outreach programme from October to November 2025. The aim was to promote inclusion through sports and offer students of varying abilities the chance to enjoy and explore the sport of bowling.

The activity was structured into five sessions, each lasting two hours, with 30 lanes used per session (two students per lane). The programme was jointly coordinated with two special schools.

Participants included students from the Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired and the Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre, engaging in both visually impaired and physically impaired bowling experiences. Members of the Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Representative Team and their coaching staff provided on-site instruction. As the team was preparing for the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in mid-November, the event also served as a rare opportunity for students to interact with elite athletes and experience the competitive atmosphere.
